- According to the law, individuals who handle perishable, unpackaged food items need this certificate. Perishable food items include meat, dairy, and fish, among others.
- Effective knowledge management of food and personal hygiene can significantly reduce the risk of food poisoning. Food poisoning can be life-threatening for vulnerable groups.
Who needs a hygiene passport certificate?
- Many employers across various industries require their employees to have a certificate to ensure minimum hygiene competence.
- Industries where this is commonly required are kitchens, food stalls, pizzerias, grill stands, gas stations, grocery stores, ice cream parlors, food sales at sports clubs, meat handlers at hunting clubs, slaughterhouses, hospitals, daycares, facility assistants, food industry, transportation companies (food transportation), installers and maintenance workers in kitchens, catering companies, and food production.
- The law does not require a certificate for certain job tasks, but a company may require certification in some cases to strengthen its own quality control.
How long is the hygiene passport certificate valid?
- The certificate is valid indefinitely - it doesn't need to be renewed.
- The certificate is always personal, not tied to a specific company. Therefore, the person taking the test receives the certificate for themselves.
